Get a fresh and flawless look on your big day with the help of celebrity makeup artist KC Witkamp of Makeup by KC. She brought her expert touch to our beautiful fashion feature, Stolen Moments. The makeup was inspired by Brigitte Bardot with a modern, smokey eye, a look every bride loves! Here, KC shares the steps to creating this stunning look.
1. Use a primer after applying moisturizer to create a smooth canvas. KC's Pick: Skinprep FX Nourishing Foundation Primer by Cover FX
2. Apply a silicon-based foundation evenly over the skin. Silicon is a great choice as it adheres to the skin and becomes waterproof when set with powder. KC's Pick: Face and Body by Make Up For Ever
3. Use a concealer one or two shades lighter than your foundation color. Besides fixing any discoloration, this also works as a highlighter. KC's Pick: Full Cover by Make Up For Ever
4. Apply a cream blush on the apples of the cheeks to add a translucent pop of color. KC's Pick: Posey by MAC, a great shade that looks fabulous on everyone.
5. Set the foundation (and ensure it is waterproof!) by dabbing loose powder onto the skin with a sponge, paying special attention to the t-zone. KC's Pick: Super Matte Loose Powder by Make Up For Ever
6. Fight sweat and tears by using an eyeshadow primer, this avoids creasing. KC's Pick: Shadow Insurance by Too Faced
7. Get the perfect smokey eye by applying a gel liner along the eyelid and bottom lash line followed by a clean brush to blend the edges. KC's Pick: Blacktrack by MAC. If this is too harsh, opt for a softer shade like Rich Ground by MAC
8. Finish the eye by applying a couple generous coats of waterproof mascara. KC's Pick: Smokey Lash by Make Up For Ever and Cannonball Ultra Waterproof Mascara by Urban Decay
9. When choosing a nude lipstick, keep in mind that you need to have a little bit of color or your mouth will disappear in pictures. For more definition, line lips before applying lipstick. KC's Picks: Aqua lip Waterproof liner in 1C for fair skin tones, 3C for medium, or 5C for dark tones by Make Up For Ever. A great smooch proof lipstick is #135 Super Stay 24hr Color by Maybelline
10. Spritz a setting spray all over your face to set your makeup. KC's Pick: Bridal Makeup Finish by Skindinavia, if you are concerned about about developing an oily sheen, try No More Shine Make up Finish by Skindinavia
